Jabali Afrika

Jabali is Kiswahili (Kenya’s national language) for “rock” and is unlike any program we have ever offered. Jabali Afrika combines a fusion of traditional African rhythms and original compositions and makes them come alive on a wide variety of musical instruments.

The group accompanies the instrumental music with vocal harmonies that form the foundation of modern rock, jazz, blues, and more. Traditional and modern dancing and choreography, topped off with stunning traditional African tribal costumes combines to provide a multi-cultural experience that will leave your audience enriched, educated, and most of all thoroughly entertained!

“This is my 41st year with the Bureau. This program is one you will want to see.” – John Tacha, Director

Testimonials
Jabali Afrika

This is my first time seeing them and I really enjoyed it. There’s just something about them and how active they were with the crowd. It was really good. The more you bring in different people and other cultures, the more you learn.

Heather Kind-Keppel, Director of Student Engagement - Richland College

I am writing to you to let you know how much we loved Jabali Afrika, they were everything you promised and more! We had a very diverse audience and everyone enjoyed the show. This became most apparent at the end of the show when everyone got on stage and begged them to keep playing. It was the kind of performance you wish you could share with everyone who wasn't there. Thank you so much for the opportunity.

Eileen Menefee, Director - Albany, GA

I just wanted to thank you for the Jabali Afrika performance at our school. I have heard nothing but positive comments from faculty, staff, and students. I have heard from several people that this was the best program we have ever had at our school. In fact, many of the students and staff went to see them at their show the next day! Thanks again.

Marsha Henry, Cultural Chair - Canton, NY

Jabali Afrika wowed the entire school today! This is the first time we have ever had faculty, students, families, and community together and all dancing in the back in the room! Jabali also did a great job of getting everyone involved. Would recommend to anyone.
